Colonial Seal Co. offers large diameter, metal-cased spring-loaded seals. Our large diameter, spring-loaded seals provide an effective solution that reduces downtime and minimizes maintenance costs. Our large diameter spring-loaded seals are operational in heavy-duty applications under challenging conditions such as paper and pulp processing, mining, steel mills and power generation. The seal design features an outer and inner shell made of mild steel with a Nitrile sealing lip as standard. Viton®, Teflon®, or Silicone lip materials are available as an option. The spring retainer is made of stainless steel and the sealing lip is held in place with a garter spring of galvanized steel. In heavy-duty applications or severe conditions, the added security of a garter spring prevents against leakage that could result in equipment downtime, injury or environmental contamination. Colonial Seal Co.’s large diameter, metal-cased spring loaded seals can be used as a replacement or alternative to the Garlock 64, Chicago Rawhide HDL and Gaco SMK styles. Our large diameter metal-cased spring loaded seals are available in sizes ranging from 5.9 inches OD to 68 inches OD. These seals perform in pressures up to 10 bar with sealing surface speeds up to 49 feet per second. These seals are a cost effective alternative because there are no tooling charges or minimum quantities to buy and no design costs. The seals can be manufactured in 48 hours with delivery within one week.
